Top 5 Most Shocking Movie Endings

by Greg

Undoubtedly there are many classic movies that probably deserve to be in this list. I'm sure films like Psycho, The Empire Strikes Back, The Crying Game, and Soylent Green stunned theater-goers at the time of their release, but by the time I saw any of them, I already knew the ending. So unfortunately, most such flicks were less shocking to me personally because their outcome has already become part of the American culture.

Having said that, the following are the five films that blew me farthest out of my seat:

  1. Arlington Road
  2. Unbreakable
  3. The Sixth Sense
  4. Se7en
  5. The Usual Suspects

Hey, copycat, you didn't think "Primal Fear" was shocking?
Greg says:
No, I didn't see "Primal Fear". I did see "Fear", though. Mmmm.... Alyssa Milano....
Greg says:
The new "Planet of the Apes" is a strong contender for this category as well, partly for the very end, and partly for its explanation of the planet's creation.
